Make it with Michaels

Some projects just take on a life of their own: starting as a simple "Medium Rectangle" for a presentation by The McClatchy Corporation to Michaels Crafts, this project grew to include an animated "Roadblock" and an online video I had to edit down using iMovie because the edit suite was locked.

About me

If you’re looking for someone to lead your creative team in producing the kind of work that makes your readers sit up and take notice and your advertisers pull out their checkbooks, I'm your man.

With over 15 years' experience in all areas of print and online communications, from print and interactive to photography, broadcast commercials, high-end prepress, printing and more, there’s nothing you can throw at me I can’t handle.

I addition to end-to-end project management — from concept to delivery and every step in between — I have extensive experience in the the day-to-day business of running a creative department, including training and technical supervision, problem-solving, and quality control of work submitted by freelancers and interns, managing creative timelines, budgets and quality control for all deliverables.

Most recently I've spent 2 1/2 years developing and refining the look of The Miami Herald’s print, online, and TV campaigns. Leading their eight-member creative team's transition to the Adobe Creative Suite, training employees and developing best practices to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.

I also developed creative concepts for print, direct mail, POP, packaging, online and TV and supervised execution by creative staff and 3rd party vendors, as well as developing the concepts and executions for new print and interactive products for use throughout the McClatchy Company’s newspaper properties.

I'm a strategic thinker who takes pride in flawless tactical execution. I'm able to asses clients' requirements quickly and produce creative that easily meets — and usually exceeds — their expectations. Creative that’s easy to sell and helps customers achieve their goals.
